Spring-cleaning

I have always been excited for any end beginnings and more excited than so for Chinese New Years. Firstly, I get to wear new clothes and new everything. When I was young, it would meant that I will then get to finally wear my gold and jade (cringing inwards because of the bad combination) necklace, along with my gold bracelet. It is a once-a-year affair and I will only get to wear the gold jewelry for all of two days per year. I wonder where is my gold bracelet now?

One of the main perks of Chinese New Year is the fact that I get to wear new clothes and everything else for the days of New Year. For a shopaholic, that is very good news indeed. The joys of getting new clothes are much more so when I was young since I would get at least two whole new outfits and the new stuffs would be paid for by my parents. Then, it evolved to a stage whereby the parents would give me a specific amount of money and I would have to go shop for my outfits myself since our tastes can never seem to agree or meet. That was still okay as the only challenge was finding all the stuff within the budget provided.

1.1.11

Absolute favourite!
I'm so glad that I've outgrown the age where I feel like I have to join bustling parties and go hang out at stuffy venues where everyone is squashed like sardines against other sweaty, smelly bodies and there's the constant irritation of people caressing my boobs and butt. Nowadays, I no longer see the appeal of clubbing and parties. I would rather chill someplace where the noise level is more suited to chatting and laughing instead of shouting into other people's ears.

That is why, this year I organised a barbeque at my cousin's place and the entire family's cousins gathered around to barbeque my self marinated shitake mushrooms, salmon with lemon herb dressing, chicken fillets, paprika chicken wings, sweet and sour pork loin slices, chocolate bananas, potatoes with sour cream and cheese, sweet corn, and of course, the mandatory marshmallows that The Boyfriend grills to perfection!

It feels good to give too!

I recently started blogging about stuff that I wish to give away on my other blog Shop In My Wardrobe and I am real happy to say that things have been going on well! I went down yesterday to meet someone to pass her the piece of intricate artwork which I bought for 550baht at my first holiday in the very lovely Phuket with The Boyfriend in the year 2005.

Switching things up a notch

Maybe it is my Virgo nature, but I have always been interested in switching things up after a while!

That might explain why I always get excited over new beginnings and opportunities. Whenever my birthdays or new year's eves are around the corner, I will get so excited over the start of a new beginning and make massive plans, both huge and teeny tiny, for fresh new starts.
